Titan Slurry Pumps

Flowserve Australia Logo
TKL Titan Slurry is a horizontal, single-stage, end-suction pump that uses an overhung impeller style, which demonstrates Flowserve’s engineering expertise in hydraulic design.
The heavy-duty Titan Slurry pump can handle high concentrations of abrasive solids in suspension without breaking. Its unique dual case design allows the use of hard metal or elastomeric liner for more application flexibility. Additionally, this centrifugal pump can be bolted in place of a similar dual-casing slurry pump with little to no site modification.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Industrial Slurry Pumps

Fluid enters the impeller through the “eye” and is “centrifuged” (hence the name) to the impeller periphery, with assistance from the impeller vanes.
As the impeller rotates, it imparts kinetic energy onto the liquid surrounding it due to friction. The liquid moves towards the outer periphery of the impeller; its kinetic energy is then changed to pressure. The impeller has vanes separated by channels through which the liquid flows. Each channel has an increasing flow path area. As the flow path area expands, the liquid’s velocity decreases and the pressure increases.
Due to the unique shape of the volute casing, the liquid undergoes a further velocity decrease and pressure increase. The liquid is then discharged through the discharge port.
